Why am I still playing this game? The answer is simple. Basim ibn Ishaq has a story that feels way more personal. The plot starts with him as a “street thief” just trying to rise up the ranks. The flow is linear. It does not force you into endless level grinding. 😅

Plus, the parkour in this one feels much smoother, almost like the golden days of AC 2 and 3.

Also, the stealth mechanics are back as the main key to finishing your missions. No more messy, open-field brawls that make no sense, like in Assasin’s Creed Origins.

The detail in Baghdad is absolutely insane. In my opinion, the graphics can even hold their own against Clair Obscur Expedition 33. That is just how I feel about it anyway. 🤔

Game progress uses a cool Investigation Board system. This means you won’t find a pile of quest logs that make you “crazy” when you open the menu. But yeah, that is mostly thanks to the linear storyline.

Ultrawide Cutscene Fix:

Now, this is for those of you using a wide monitor where the cutscenes look cropped or have those annoying black bars. I used to spend hours messing with hex values just to fix “weird” resolutions on ultrawide monitors.

1. Open the HxD tool first.
2. Press Control O at the same time.
3. Find the ACMirage.exe file in your installation folder.
4. Press Control R immediately and go to the Hex Values section.
5. Search for the code 39 8E E3 3F and replace it with your specific resolution. Select Search direction “All”.
6. Click Change everything at the bottom.
7. Save the file to overwrite the old one. Set your aspect ratio inside the game settings.
8. Use the repair feature if you run into any trouble.

If the Game Won’t Launch:

If the game refuses to open, try updating your VGA drivers. Also, make sure to install VCredist C++ and DirectX. Sometimes the issue is just a weird setting in the Windows Volume Mixer. Try changing your audio output. It happens!
